A Female Governor emerged a winner in Taraba State Nigeria.

Mama Taraba Emerges Nigeria's First Female Governor Aisha Alhassan has been declared the winner of the April 11 governorship election in Taraba state, thus making her Nigeria’s first female governor-elect. This was after a Taraba state governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja nullified the election of Governor Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 75 Killed In Mozambique After Taking Local Beer Seventy five people have been reportedly killed in Mozambique following consumption of local beer. The Mozambican health authorities confirmed on Wednesday, November 4, that contamination resulted in the beer tragedy Chitima, Tete province, in the northwest of the country in January. It was earlier speculated that the poisoning were intentional, however, the ministry’s disclosure disproves all speculation. Xinhua news agency reports that the results of tested samples from the drink, locally known as “Pombe”, were made public on Wednesday in Maputo by the Ministry of Health. The tests were done in the United States, after South Africa failed to determine the causes of the deaths. Container Falls Off Truck In Lagos Lagosians in the Toyota bus-stop axis, along Apapa-Oshodi expressway today, November 5, witnessed an accident involving an articulated truck carrying a container which caused heavy gridlock all the way to Ilasa.  The incident is coming one month after the Lagos state government reiterated its determination to ensure strict enforcement of t he Lagos state Road Traffic Law 2012 , which restricts trailers and other long vehicles from plying the metropolis between the hours of 6am to 9pm. The state government had vowed to go tough on any trailer and long vehicle that contravenes the law as such vehicle will be impounded and made to pay the stipulated fine accordingly. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Sunshine Stars of Akure were top of the NPFL The League Management Company (LMC) has banned Akure Stadium from hosting league games for a year following the unruly behaviour of the club’s fans, who stormed the pitch and attacked match officials in Sunday’s clash against Lobi Stars. Their next three home games will be played in Lagos. Sunshine will also have to pay a  fine of  five million Naira (N5m). The club supporters have been banned for rest of season for their conduct in that week 36 game. Air Force Bombards Boko Haram Base In Niger Niger’s air force has carried out its biggest counter-offensive attack against insurgents in eight months. New Telegraph reports that the air force attacked a Boko Haram base in the country’s southeast and arrested more than 20 militants on Thursday, November 5. Members of the terrorists’ group have repeatedly attacked the Lake Chad area, including Niger’s southern border region of Diffa. Security sources said that government forces tracked the militants after a soldier was killed when a military vehicle was blown up by the group near Lake Chad on Monday, November 2. “Our air forces destroyed this nest, but we do not yet have an official death toll,”  a military officer said. Last month, Niger’s parliament approved a three-month extension of a 15-day state of emergency in Diffa in order to boost security.
