Sunshine Stars Of Akure Banned For One Year

Sunshine stars of Akure have felt the wrath of the League Management Company following the unruly nature of their fans in the clash against Lobi stars.

Sunshine Stars of Akure were top of the NPFL

The League Management Company (LMC) has banned Akure Stadium from hosting league games for a year following the unruly behaviour of the club’s fans, who stormed the pitch and attacked match officials in Sunday’s clash against Lobi Stars.

Their next three home games will be played in Lagos. Sunshine will also have to pay a  fine of  five million Naira (N5m).

The club supporters have been banned for rest of season for their conduct in that week 36 game.

The game against Lobi Stars will restart at the 77th minute and will be played on November 11 with the score line of 1-0 in favour of Lobi Stars.

Sunshine stars are sixth on the table ahead of week 36 clashes. Sunshine Stars were named the best team in the NPFL in the first stanza of the season
